General Description
This is a jr-level position in a start-up venture. It will involve a steep learning curve, inventing processes and procedures, and making a new initiative productive in a short amount of time. It will require self-learning, mentoring, and education as appropriate.
It is expected that that a new proposal will be developed and submitted weekly on the average.
Responsibilities
Understand the various application processes of multiple foundations.
Quickly and effectively use the inte_noemail and other online tools (FDO) to research grant makers effectively.
Draft grant proposals and reports, coordinating input from program, administration, and Advancement Staff as needed.
Compose proposals according to these processes and best practices, building expertise so as to rapidly submit new proposals on a regular basis.
Track open proposals and report on their status, decisions, and feedback.
Form directories and databases of submitted proposals that can be referenced to quickly create new proposals as appropriate.
Develop relationships with the appropriate operations people at the various foundations where possible.

Successful staffing of the position of Foundations Grant Proposal Writer should result in:
Successful implementation of processes and procedures
Accurate reports on the submitted proposals to the Advancement Staff and the President
Full utilization of Razor's Edge, Researcher's Edge, Prospect Point and Wealth Point
An accurate electronic database containing relevant and up-to-date information regarding Foundations and grant applications.
Clear procedures for_noemailmunicating results with accounting department
Technology Qualifications
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook, MS Access
Proficient in the navigation of Inte_noemail and email
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
A Bachelor's degree or current BA candidate graduating in spring 2011
Must posses strong research, editing, proof-reading, planning, and_noemailanizational skills.
Excellent oral and written_noemailmunication skills. Must_noemailmunicate in a_noemailpelling and succinct way.
Strong interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Ability to work in a fast paced dead-line driven environment
