The music minister must be able to work with all forms and styles of worship and music, including but not limited to:
traditional/liturgical
contemporary/global
choral
gospel
band and orchestra leadership
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Extensive training and background in creating and presenting music for worship (Bachelor's Degree in Music or its equivalent a plus; advanced degree preferred)
Knowledge of, experience with, and proficiency in:
o Playing piano (although we currently have no_noemailan, we would like to obtain one, and a candidate with well-developed_noemailan-playing skills will be we_noemailed)
o Conducting choral and orchestral groups and leading a band
o Using technology in a worship setting
Excellent written and oral_noemailmunication skills
Strong administrative skills
Proven team leadership and relational skills Have a heart for ministry, a love of God (in her/his understanding of God), and a genuine delight in working with people

Understand how to lead a ministry, in addition to performing music
Embrace a philosophy of ministry_noemailpatible with present staff
Be flexible and open to varying styles of worship as well as sensitive to when to employ each style, as the varying styles may evolve over time
Possess a high degree of personal motivation
Have a profound understanding of the need for, and ability to create and employ, inclusive language in all worship presentations
Be_noemailfortable with a wide range of GLBTQI persons and their wide variety of personal expressions
