Primary Responsibilities of the Director of Youth:
Be a Disciple – Model a relationship with Jesus Christ
Embody the vision of the Church through worship, growth and ministry.
Make Disciples by:
o Developing and providing vision and oversight for Christ-Centered Youth
Ministries of the Church
o Developing student and adult leaders for youth ministry
Regular training and recruitment for youth ministry
Develop a program for students to take leadership roles in peer ministry
o Providing direction and vision for the Junior High Sunday including
pre confirmation program of "Journey to Discipleship" and "The Bible"
o Coordinating and leading the confirmation program: Youth Alpha
o Assist in the development of 7th through 12th grade Study/Life Groups.
o Resourcing the Discipleship and Mission Committees of the Church
o Planning and leading mission opportunities for the youth during the
summer: this includes a weeklong mission trip for the Senior Highs and
a mission experience for the Junior Highs
o Plan youth retreats for Senior High
o Plan Junior High retreats
o Providing, along with the pastor, pastoral care to families and youth
o Intentionally building relationships with youth and members of the
church in order to_noemailmunicate the meaning of relationship with Christ.
o Assist in worship at the request of the Pastor
o Organize quarterly meetings with parents of youth.
o Organize and lead youth Sunday
o Develop a presence in the local schools through FCA or school functions.
o Assist in_noemailanizing Baccalaureate for graduating seniors.
o Develop a missional focus for youth ministry with outreach, evangelism
and mission.
o Promote youth involvement in congregational events such as Fall Kickoff
, Weeks of Unbroken Prayer, etc.
o Attend staff meetings
o Maintain youth portion of website and Facebook
