Children's Ministries Director Job - First Presbyterian Church, GRAND HAVEN, Michigan

BROAD PURPOSE: Create, facilitate, and administer a_noemailprehensive, innovative, and biblically-based children's spiritual development program for nursery through 6th grade

REPORTS TO: Associate Pastor of Family Life (APFL)

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Nursery team, Leader and Teacher Volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and/or experience in Children's Ministries

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Plan, direct and administer the Sunday morning nursery and children's program, including church school classes, "Summer Sunday" program, Vacation Bible School and special events.

Help_noemailanize, plan and lead opportunities for mission and service for school-age children.

Plan and coordinate family events throughout the year including, but not limited to, Decking the Halls, Christmas program, Easter Egg Hunt, all church picnic (Some events done in cooperation with the Fellowship Committee)

Organize and supervise the Fellowship program for upper elementary age students (3rd/4th grade)

Oversee and schedule the nursery team and all volunteers (approx. 25/Sun.)

Maintain_noemailmunication with parents through email, mailings, phone calls and the church web site, and seek to intentionally incorporate parents whenever possible

Supply volunteers with curriculum and materials needed for class activities and support their endeavors

Recruit, train, encourage, and direct teachers

Staff liaison to the Children's Ministries Committee, attend monthly meetings

Attend staff meetings

Work with the Youth Assistant to coordinate children's transition into Middle School

Provide a list of suggested names, room set-up information and Children's Ministries Comm. childcare guidelines to other_noemailmittees (e.g. Moms' Group, Fellowship, etc.) that choose to offer childcare for their events.

Develop and maintain the Children's Ministries budget

Oversee the Sprott Children's Library located in the Lounge

Work with APFL to maintain Stewardship program

Maintain Children's Ministries bulletin board and display window

Participate in Worship as directed

Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
