Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church, a vibrant, historic congregation in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking a full-time Director of Children & Family Ministry to oversee and give direction to an exciting and_noemailprehensive children's ministry. Galloway is a dynamic 2000 member congregation which was established in 1836. Galloway has many exciting ministries seeking to meet the needs of a diverse constituency. Galloway believes strongly that her purpose is ‘revealing heaven on earth through the witness of our personal spirituality, congregational ethos, and works of ministry by faithfully following Jesus.'

We seek a Director who is called to serve children, from birth through sixth grade, and their families. The candidate would evidence a contagious enthusiasm for Christ and children with proven gifts of_noemailanization, administration and_noemailmunication (oral and written). An ideal candidate will demonstrate deep Wesleyan theological grounding and gifts of leadership. The Director will implement ministry to, with and alongside children, their adult leaders, parents, and guardians to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. An effective Director will empower children to understand that they are loved by God, called by God, and equipped by God as disciples of Jesus Christ to have the hands and hearts of a servant. The Director will oversee Children's Sunday School, Children's Church for 4 and 5 year olds, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation (January through May); will provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance for children/parents/guardians/teachers and families; engage worship planning through a team model, and lead the children's teaching time in worship.

All ministry regarding children extends a call to God's Mission in the world. The Director requires a team oriented spirit. An ideal candidate will display passion for seeing children_noemaile to know, love, and follow Christ, as well as passion for ministry with persons who are on the margins.
