Children's/Youth Director Job - CrossRoads Church, Norfolk, Virginia

Compensation: $25,000 - 35,000/year
Position Summary: The role of the Children's Director (CD) is to oversee the children's
ministry of CrossRoads Church. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of CR and the ability to align key leadership teams and volunteers with our mission, vision and values. The CD will cultivate relationships and spiritual growth of kids through weekend services, special events, and other events designated by senior leadership teams.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
1. ENSURES OVERSIGHT AND SUPPORT OF CHILDREN'S WEEKEND WORSHIP SERVICE
Responsible for providing opportunities that create engaging experiences and life-changing environments for children:
a. Gives insight and direction for big picture programming and creative planning processes
b. Selects relevant curriculum, props, and games for weekend experiences
c. Ensures that check-in areas, ministry spaces and signage are clear, current and focused on new kids and their families
d. Participates in weekly staff meetings
e. Leads special events designated by the church for children (VBS, Christmas Play, etc)

2. COORDINATING AND SCHEDULING VOLUNTEERS AND PAID WORKERS
a. Schedules all volunteers for weekly services as well as special services
b. Provides training and updates to all volunteers on a consistent basis
c. Run background checks on all volunteers who work with children
d. Coordinate and schedule with workers who work for special events at the church (life group, mom's group, etc)

3. PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE CHILDREN'S MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH:
a. Provide resources and accountability to children's ministries of the church
b. Provide centralized efforts for training leaders (classroom specific, first aid, etc)
c. Manages budgets and forecast expenses for children's ministry

4. YOUTH COORDINATOR
a. Provides leadership for launching a middle school youth ministry through the church
b. Helps build a team that has a heart for youth
c. Plans and_noemailanize events for youth

CrossRoads children ministry currently has about 60 + kids on a Sunday morning and 100+ volunteers throughout the month.

CROSSROADS STATEMENT OF FAITH
I. Statement of Faith

Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. People in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ are to live in holiness and obedience as they submit to the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. Sent by the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit applies Christ's saving work by enlightening the minds of sinners to their need to be saved. He renews and indwells each believer upon salvation, b_noemailing their source of assurance, strength, wisdom, and gifting for building up the church. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Bible. Appropriated by faith, His power and control empower believers to lead a life of Christ-like character and bear fruit for the Father's glory.
