Job Description for EEFC Associate Pastor
Reports to: Senior Pastor and Elder Board
Responsibilities:
• Be an effective Christian witness to church attenders, staff, and a watching world through display of character and through style of leadership.
• B_noemaile an integral part of the pastoral team dedicated to the spiritual health and nourishment of the family at EEFC
• Assume staff responsibility for the following tasks:
Adult Ministries Team Leader
o Adult Sunday Studies
Oversee schedule securing at least two adult offerings (college age and older) with qualified teachers.
Personally participate as one of the “anchor” teachers about 75% of the time.
Formation of integrated teaching plan that covers stated discipleship strategy (learning, caring, serving, worship.)
Work with SS leaders to identify and train new teachers to replenish the pipeline, and ensure evaluation of offerings is conducted regularly.
o Men/Women/Young adult
Act as resource and coordinator for Bible studies and classes, securing leaders and curriculum.
Teacher of the Word – Act as pulpit backup for the Sr. Pastor (team teaching format.)
Missions Ministry Team Lead
Lead the church’s missions-related activity, to include:
o Development and administration of the Mission budget,
o Liaison with the various missionaries and missions agencies,
o Coordination with sister congregations who support same efforts
o Planning, coordination and execution of missions awareness efforts.
Local Outreach – Lead church efforts in local outreach and service to the_noemailmunity, including:
o Hands 2 Serve, Love Wichita, “Church Has Left the Building” projects
o Represent the church to local agencies with whom we partner and support (LOVE Inc, Choices Clinic, Hilltop, Genesis, etc.)
o Plan, coordinate and execute both church-wide and sub-group specific (i.e., youth group) service opportunities
o Act as primary point of contact to actively recruit, plan and execute hosting_noemailmunity service events on church grounds
o Advocate for property additions and upgrades for outreach purposes
• Other Responsibilities:
Attend staff meetings and elder board meetings.
Assist with membership orientation classes, new-attender lunches, hospital visitation
