Job Description:
The Director of youth and young adult ministry will be responsible for developing a pastoral ministry with a focus on young people 6th grade and going through young adult (mid-20's). The director will be responsible to support all youth ministries, responsible for curriculum, recruiting and developing teachers and a systematic approach to youth development. He must demonstrate a strong_noemailmitment to the faith, and lead by example in his personal life. The goal of the ministry program is to encourage active participation from our young people in the life of the church. The youth and young adult minister will work to recruit and train a group of adult volunteers, a group of young adult leaders, and will work closely with church leaders, worship leaders and music leaders to enliven opportunities for young people in our Church. We are actively seeking someone to invigorate our programming in this area of church life with emphasis on bringing our youth to Christ.
Key Responsibilities include:
Plan, develop, implement, and provide general oversight for all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of team building, worship, discipleship, mission and outreach.
Establish a friendly rapport with and among the youth through a variety of fun, and purposeful activities.
Develop and promote biblically-based education through Sunday School and other programs.
Encourage the youth to get involved in ministry and provide them frequent opportunities to do so.
Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship and counseling to the youth as called upon.
Give ongoing opportunities to hear the gospel message, opportunities for discipleship and to assist them to b_noemaile spiritually mature Christians.
Recruit, train and oversee volunteer youth staff.
Maintain open_noemailmunication with church staff, parents, youth and members of the congregation.
The Director of Youth Ministry (DYM) is a member of the pastoral team and reports directly to the pastor. The DYM will be responsible to:
Mentor youth and provide counseling and spiritual direction that aligns with church ministry strategy and plans.
Preach and teach biblically sound sermons and Bible studies as assigned by the Pastor.
Attend to regular administrative duties as assigned by the Pastor

We are a family friendly church located in the south-east side of Louisville, Kentucky, We began as a Bible study group in 1975 and grew in size and ministry over the years. We are a church family with a big heart, and are committed to taking the Gospel to our community. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in ministry or education and /or a willingness to work toward ordination
Proficiency in using the computer/current technology including Word, Excel, Power Point, email, social media, etc.
As a Minimum, 1 to 2 years of youth or young adult ministry experience
As a plus, the ability to speak some Chinese (Mandarin) or cultural experience with Chinese
As a plus some degree of musical talent.
Knowledge of local and state safety and security requirements. (Child Safety)
Proficiency in using the computer/current technology including Word, Excel, Power Point, email, social media, etc.
