Job Summary:
Title: Youth & Family Pastor
Hours: Full-time
Ministry Goals: To equip and assist Kerrville Bible Church (KBC) parents, especially fathers, to carry out their mandate to evangelize and disciple their own children. To promote honor and obedience of all children and youth toward their parents. To further evangelize and disciple children and youth of KBC homes as a supplement to the work of their parents. To evangelize and disciple other children, youth, and parents, as the Lord should bring our way and as we shall go out and find.
Job Description / Duties:
Oversee and direct all volunteers involved in Youth and Children's Ministries (Awana, Sunday School (Pre-K-High School), Junior High Youth Group, and Children's Church). Includes oversight and management of Child Protection Policy and Procedures.
Establish and maintain direct involvement and participation with High School youth and their families. This includes, but not limited to, weekly teaching and preaching, discipleship, evangelism, leadership development of adult volunteers and youth, household visits, sporting events, etc.
Teach High School Sunday School on a regular basis and provide oversight to volunteer teachers.
Attend and support Jr High gatherings.
Participate in pastoral visits of parents and youth.
Preach on Sunday mornings at least once per year (typically Youth Sunday).
Occasionally open the general worship service, deliver Scripture reading and pastoral prayer in morning worship.
Participate in new member interviews to help with assimilation, shepherding and discipleship of new members.
Other Leadership Activities:
Participate in monthly elder meetings, potential KBC elder
Participate in elder-in-training sessions with pastor/teacher
Participate in weekly staff prayer meeting and podcast.
Organize and lead annual summer camp for high school students (such as attending Camp Regen in Glorietta, NM each summer).
Compensation:
Package will include base salary, pastoral allowance, retirement/FICA, health insurance, annual conference fee, and other miscellaneous. These will be disclosed during the candidate assessment process.
