Oakland Woods Baptist Church (OWBC), established in 1985, is a multi-generational congregation that values biblical teaching and loving one another. We are very community focused and in a present phase of expansion as seen in our regular attendance which is upward of 100 adults, compared to 60 adults just a year ago. Our current youth group includes around 30 students that range from 7thgrade to 12th grade. Our church has an immense heart for the unreached, which can be seen in our thriving bus ministry that provides local children in our area an opportunity to hear the gospel message. Each Sunday morning, on average 40-50 school-aged children have the opportunity to receive a free breakfast and learn about God's message of love and salvation. On Wednesday evenings, we provide an engaging Awana program to over 70 elementary and preschool students. The result of this bus ministry is that we now have a racially diverse group of students in both our youth group and our children's ministry. We anticipate that our youth group will grow to 40 students in the Fall of 2023 and retain an upward growth trend.
At this time, OWBC is seeking a Student Pastor who will be primarily responsible for:
Reaching, discipling and integrating the current and next generation of students into church through faith in Jesus Christ.
Planning and executing biblically rich, relevant and engaging services for our middle school and high school students (e.g., Sunday school, weekly meetings, service projects, retreats, and other activities).
Creating, promoting and managing a youth ministry calendar.
Establishing and nurturing personal relationships as a trusted mentor and counselor to individual students.
Maintaining communications with parents of students pertaining to the activities of the ministry.
Participating in weekly meetings with the Senior Pastor ensuring comprehensive understanding, accountability and agreement.
