1. Synopsis of Role
Multi-task position involving assisting the Children's Director in all aspects of the ministry including recruiting, training and scheduling teachers, organizing and maintaining children's lessons, coordinating childcare for events, and assist in managing programs and events. This position requires high energy and self motivation, high level of professionalism and ability to communicate efficiently with ministry team members, staff and parents. This is a ministry role whereas the individual must be called to ministry to serve in a growing community, to teach the hearts of children in the Lord to fulfill the mission of the church Win-Disciple-Send.
2. Principal Responsibilities
Enlist all childcare workers for church programs and events.
Schedule teachers, and provide planned activities where needed.
Hire and provide training experiences and appropriate development for childcare workers.
Report, inform, and participate in regular planning meetings with the Childrenˇ¦s Director and weekly staff planning meetings.
Request background check updates and updated volunteer forms and notifications.
Encourage all ministry team members and childcare staff which may include verbal praise, notes, gifts of affirmation, etc.
Greet and Interact with parents and children in a positive and professional manner.
Communicate on a regular basis with childcare workers and volunteers.
Fill in when volunteers are absent and prepared for any age and grade level.
Interact with parents and visitors in a positive manner.
Maintain all snack and classroom supplies including organizing and purchasing within the allocated budget.
Organize weekly children ministry lessons for preschool age students and supplies for all 3 services.
Manage check-in desk for all events, including Wednesday Night, Saturday and Sunday Services. Assist Children's Director with Adventure Kids Bible Club - Wednesday Night Program which may include, but not be limited to recruiting and scheduling volunteers, organizing snacks, volunteer meals, training, organizing curriculum, classrooms, store night and team building games.
Schedule and maintain all childcare workers records including background checks and scheduling and maintaining childcare workers training, ministry safe training and CPR classes.
Maintain and update Planning Center Online and Fellowship One, including printing weekly rosters, sign in sheets, and check in tags.
Assist the Childrenˇ¦s Director in all annual church events (Fall Festival, Programs, Camps, Vacation Bible School, Day Camp, Daddy Daughter Dance, etc.)
