Children and Youth Ministry Director Job - Navarre United Methodist Church, Navarre, Florida

Job Description for Children and Youth Director: this is a full-time exempt position and this person reports directly to the Senior Pastor. This person is responsible for developing and implementing ministry programs and discipleship activities for children and youth, relating to their families within the context of an orthodox traditional local church.
Position Tasks and Responsibilities:
Facilitate all children's programs and events to include Sunday School, Children's Celebration worship, Sunday evening and/or mid-week program activities and collaborate with Pastor in the Confirmation process. All programs are to be biblically based.
Oversee and lead programming for students from kindergarten through high school.
Develop and implement special programs such as Vacation Bible School, Fall and Spring Festivals, and other seasonal children's activities and youth activities.
Collaborate/coordinate with Nursery Coordinator, staff and volunteers and provide training and support as needed.
Develop relationships and implement means of reaching current and prospect families with children and/or youth. This is to include virtual means of_noemailmunication and relation building.
Create and_noemailmunicate details related to an annual budget for Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry.
Recruit volunteer leaders to support all ministries.
Review and select curriculum resources for volunteer ministry partners in all Children and Youth Ministry activities.
Collaborate and work with pastor and fellow staff members to include_noemailmunicating and planning in regular weekly meetings.
Oversee and manage the church's Safe Sanctuary Program, train and provide security, safety, and first-aid oversight and implementation.
Collaborate with Preschool Director for means of reaching preschool families and children.
Maintain records and regularly report on ministry activities to pastor, staff, and church leadership.
Attend and participate in weekly and monthly meetings with other ministry staff, volunteers, and church leadership.
Be familiar with all and_noemailpliance with policies, guidelines and procedures as outlined in the Navarre United Methodist Church Handbook.
Job Skills and Requirements:
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality as required in working with staff and in relation to children and families.
Excellent oral and written_noemailmunication skills.
Proficiency in_noemailputer skills including Microsoft Office and adaptability to use of church calendar and management software systems such as Google and CCB.
Bachelor's Degree and/or 2 years' experience in Children's Ministry or Youth Ministry.
Biblically oriented personal relationship to Jesus Christ and active involvement in a faith journey within a local church family.
