Job Description:

Olivet Baptist Church is looking for a fulltime business administrator that will share our beliefs, join in the spiritual life of the church, and work actively to support our ministry and vision. This position is responsible for the business aspects of running the church, including management of church finances, personnel, property/facilities, risk/safety, and office operations. The ideal candidate will have a record of demonstrating integrity, the ability to communicate well with others, and an aptitude for managing multiple priorities or tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise office and custodial staff, including outside contractors

  • Provide oversight, assistance, and coordination in the daily operations of the church office and facilities

  • Manage accounting and finance activities, including, but not limited to, preparing financial reports and budgets, ensuring compliance with internal accounting controls, and ensuring tax forms are prepared and distributed in a timely manner

  • Administer personnel policies

  • Maintain personnel records for church employees, including preschool employees

  • Coordinate payroll and benefits with external human resources firm

  • Assure church's compliance with federal and state labor laws

  • Oversee the purchase of supplies for the church and office

  • Manage and maintain all insurance policies, vendor relationships, maintenance agreements, and legal documents

Job Qualifications:


  • Bachelorís degree, preferably with a major that would demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting

  • Five (5) years of experience as an office manager or similar supervisory experience

  • Experience in human resources or personnel operations

  • Experience with budgets and financial reconciliations
