EDUCATION & CAREER QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Development, Christian Leadership, Business or a related field required
Minimum 1-year management/supervisory experience required
Director's Credential Minimum Level 1 with VPK endorsement required or willing to acquire
Preschool teaching experience preferred
Competency in general computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office) plus a willingness to be trained in ProCare Software System
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a high-quality educational curriculum that successfully prepares children for Kindergarten including the launch and maintenance of a VPK Program
Incorporate Christian themes and biblical teachings in the program, including the use of the Chapel once a week
Help manage the Preschool budget in collaboration with the Church Business Administrator
Collaborate with the Assistant Director in the production of the Parent/Staff Newsletters, Staff meetings, registration materials, other Preschool forms and corresponding databases
Train, manage, and evaluate the preschool staff
Inform parents of pertinent information and updates as needed regarding Preschool policies, activities and church events
Conduct parent orientations at the beginning of the school year and be available for facility tours and informational meetings with prospective families
CHARACTER & VALUES
The Director of the Preschool should be a Christian who approaches leadership from a place of vision, creativity and wisdom. The director must be a team leader who is unafraid to speak the truth in love and lead by example. The director should demonstrate his or her faith with authenticity, passion and a life that honors God. The director should possess excellent communication skills, evaluative skills, and supervisory skills.
