Position Purpose
To pastor and create a sense of belonging for the kids and families within the Kids Ministry.  To equip and empower volunteer leaders to minister to children within the ministry.  To align with the mission of RHCC to help build a foundation and environment where kids birth - 5th grade are equipped to think, love and live like Jesus.  To oversee and set vision for the Kids Ministry staff, coordinator, and volunteers.   

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

Kids Ministry Oversite (60%)
Utilize a team approach of individuals and teams of people to assist in the weekend gatherings
Be proactive in recruiting and connecting volunteers of different generations.
Prepare, adapt and incorporate a unified, Biblical curriculum together within the ministries of RH Kids.
Taking the lead in teaching efforts in various capacities for the department.  Leading, equipping and training volunteers on the teaching team, as well as small group leaders.  
Exercise upfront, large group presentation skills.
Prioritize a small group oriented approach to the ministry program.
Develop an entry level student leadership team where children are trained, empowered and allowed to serve Jesus in different ways.
Create a relational and aesthetically engaging environment, which draws children in and elicits a desire to participate.
Utilize Planning Center in order to better welcome, care for and minister to the children and families in this department.
Work with coordinator for proper registration, background checks and assimilate volunteers into the ministry, and ensure all required onboarding and proper safety measures are being prioritized.
Maintain policies, procedures and standards that ensure the health, safety and security of children and volunteers.
Implement opportunities for ministry throughout the year, including, but not limited to summer activities, camps, holiday focused celebrations, and outreach events for children and/or families to invite their friends.
Pursuing helping and engaging young adult involvement within the Kids Ministry.

Leadership (30%)
Supervising the RH Kids Ministry staff through:  team meetings, individual meetings, oversight, direction, critical examination, constructive feedback, empowerment and collaborative efforts. 
Casting vision and purposes for the Kids Ministry staff, volunteers, children and parents within the ministry. 
Modeling the priority of attending the main gathering at RHCC.
Be personally involved in making disciples who in turn help others to become disciples.
Being an active participant in the areas in which RHCC is going after each year, and helping volunteers to be a part of the vision/battle.
Actively learning and growing personally to be a better support to team, children and families.
Collaborating and partnering with various ministries to help create pathways for people to belong at RH.
Actively being a part of leadership development.
Provide biblical knowledge and wisdom to advance and protect the spiritual health of the ministry.

Pastoral (10%)
Faithfully carrying out monthly POC coverage responsibilities.
Officiate weddings and memorial services.
Caring for children, families, and volunteers within the ministry.
Ministering to and visiting children and/or parents going through hardships or crises.
