Job Description:
The Pastor is a humble leader who prayerfully provides inspiration, vision, and leadership to our church and community as we strive to grow in Christ. The Pastor's primary responsibilities on Sunday morning will include, but are not limited to welcoming the congregation, leading the church with Bible-based messages, and to lead/teach/participate in Sunday School classes. During the week the Pastor will also utilize opportunities to lead/teach/participate in weekly Bible studies/small groups, as well as counsel to those in need. The Pastor should be able to lead in the spiritual health, continued ministry development, and direction of our church with the advisory oversight of those who make up our Elder Deacon Board. The Pastor will provide for the development and leading of our God given vision that will require working with the key committees and individuals of our church. The Pastor should be Spirit-filled and self-motivated, continually encouraging and equipping our people to grow spiritually, to serve our communities, to seek out ministry opportunities, and to work towards fulfilling Christ's command to the Church to "go and make disciples."

About McLeansboro First General Baptist Church:
McLeansboro First General Baptist Church is seeking God's will to fill the position of full-time Pastor. We are located in Southern Illinois, in the quiet, rural town of McLeansboro, with a population of approximately 3,000. Our facility is approximately 25,000 square feet, located about 100 miles south and east of St. Louis, Missouri and 65 miles west of Evansville, Indiana. Our church currently has an average attendance of approximately 150+ between two Sunday morning services, ministering to many more through our on-line services. We are a diverse group of individuals with many gifts and skill sets. We take pride in being a congregation of "workers" who willfully use their talents to serve God. We are mission-minded, being active in the community, as well as intrastate, interstate, and international missions.
We have two Sunday morning services, a separate Sunday morning Children's Ministry led by a team of volunteers, and a Sunday evening service.

Job Qualifications:
College degree – preferred, but not required.
At least five years' experience as a Senior Pastor, leading a congregation of equivalent size – preferred, but not required.
Called by God to not only preach the word but lead and pastor a congregation.
Good communicator of God's word, demonstrated through a history of delivering Biblical and powerful messages, understandable to the spiritually young and relevant to the more spiritually mature.
Committed to continued personal growth as a pastor and leader.
Mature interpersonal skills, with experience in leading a staff team or volunteers.
Ability to plan, set goals, promote events, and organize leadership development.
Ability to mentor, encourage and motivate.
Love and compassion for our congregation and the people of our communities.
Willing to make a minimum 5-year commitment to serve as the pastor of our church.
