The lead pastor would be responsible to oversee all ministries, develop an eager volunteer staff, invest in faithful elder board and establish new ministries to keep New Life pointed outward for growth and discipleship.
The right candidate will be able to thrive in a multi cultural context, have a passion and proficiency for teaching and preaching the word of God, be a jack of all trades, develop people and be able to create systems to enhance the ministry acumen of the team.
New Life longs to be an evangelistic church in the Lowcountry through the implementation of any variety of outreach activities.
Purpose
Responsible for the spiritual life and direction of NewLife Bluffton. Provide strategic leadership and planning, while working with the Board of Elders and the Congregation, to ensure that the Mission, Vision and Purpose of the church is supported and maintained. Preach and teach the Word of God, laying biblical foundation and offering encouragement and inspiration.
Duties and Responsibilities
Acting as spiritual leader of the church, plan and conduct all worship services.
Be in agreement with the Articles of Faith of NewLife
Direct the church in an effective program of evangelism.
Working with church leaders, program directors and committees, plan, train, conduct and evaluate church ministries, overseeing all areas to ensure effective functioning.
Conduct counseling sessions as required.
Perform wedding ceremonies, baptisms, and funerals according to the doctrinal commitments of the church.
Arrange for pulpit supply during absences.
Perform visitation ministries, attempting to visit all members and attendees once per year; hospital visits as needed.
Implement New Members and New Believers classes.
Officiate Communion on a regular basis.
Fulfill other duties as required.

A strong leader, confident in his leadership
Charismatic in personality; a conversationalist with a love for people
Effective communication skills, both in the pulpit and inter-personally
Ability to delegate, as well as to provide or arrange support or training as indicated
A shepherd's heart, helping people to grow in their faith
Capacity to encourage and motivate others to be a part of God's plan
Heart to serve and minister, demonstrating sincere warmth and compassion for people
Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work independently while keeping others informed
Organizational skills with the capability to see the big picture
