GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF ALL CBC MINISTERS:
Meets the scriptural requirements for a spiritual leader of the church
Consistently spends time cultivating his personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Bible Study, and personal discipleship.
Is directly involved in relational evangelism
Contributes to the team spirit of the staff through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation, prayer support and other appropriate ways
Insures that the ministries he oversees function within the values and according to the purposes of CBC
Stays current with ministry trends
Attends all staff meetings and retreats, as directed.
Attends all regular worship services and, as directed, special services
Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry
Is capable and willing to preach and teach when needed
Assist in pastoral functions such as administering communion and baptism, preaching for funerals or regular worship services, teaching Bible studies or other classes, and performing weddings as requested
Maintains a kingdom focus by working with other ministers affiliated with our church through the Elmore Baptist Association, Alabama Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist Convention, and other Christian churches within our community.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direction, oversight, and vision to the student ministries of CBC.
Recruiting, equipping, and deploying into ministry Bible study teachers, class leaders, outreach leaders, evangelism leaders, caregivers, prayer leaders, etc. within the youth age group.
Perform pastoral care with the students of CBC
Work to connect the students at CBC with opportunities to reach out into the community.
Oversee and organize activities, trips, and events to enhance the fellowship, discipleship, and evangelization of students and to provide them with opportunities to serve others on mission for God.
Advise in the use of ministry materials, equipment, supplies, and space for youth groups in all church ministry organizations.
Provide appropriate training for parents of youth.
Prepare an annual budget for needs of the youth division for recommendation to the stewardship committee; administer the approved budget according to policy.
Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Specific Job Parameters:
The personnel policy explains all benefits, holidays, leave, etc.
Expected work hours -- approximately 45 hours per week
Includes all regular Sunday services and Wednesday evening services
Wednesday Night Youth Worship Service
An office will be provided at the church
Ministry-related expenses are budgeted by the church and will be implemented with an accountable-reimbursable plan
The Minister to Students is under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor
