Job Description:
We are seeking a bi-vocational or part time pastor with a paid salary working on average about 20 hours per week. We desire a pastor to prepare and deliver Bible based sermons, lead in the observance of ordinances, and help plan and co-ordinate Sunday services. We seek a pastor that will add new growth to the membership and will help enable and equip the membership for Biblical and spiritual growth. The pastor will perform wedding ceremonies, conduct funerals, and conduct counseling sessions. The pastor will also lead visitation to the ill, hospitalized, grieving, and home bound. The pastor shall take an active role in the Plains-Kismet Ministerial Alliance attending their meetings and activities.

The First Baptist Church of Plains, Kansas, is associated with the American Baptist Churches of the Central Region. We are a small, Bible believing, praying, and friendly congregation that enjoys worshiping and fellowshipping together and are supportive of one another and our pastor. We are active in missions, supporting are local Ministerial Alliance food bank, Angel Tree ministries, a Shoe Closet ministry in our grade schools that provides new shoes and underwear to students in need, and we also participate in Operation Christmas Child. We also help financially support our region's institutions at Camp Christy, Murrow Children's Home, and Bacone College. We have a traditional style Sunday morning worship service with congregational hymn singing with piano. Our ladies are active in American Baptist Women's Ministries
