Job Description:
Community Church of Rolling Meadows is seeking a Senior Pastor.
The duties of the Senior Pastor shall include the following responsibilities, and any others, which the Church and the Pastor shall agree upon:
A. To preach the Word of God (1 Timothy 4:13);
B. To administer the sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper;
C. To provide general leadership, oversight, and coordination of the overall operation, ministries, and activities of the Church (John 21:16; Hebrews 13:17);
D. To meet on a regular basis with the Director of Music and other ministry leaders and to assist in their activities and responsibilities;
E. To give direction on a day to day basis to the Church secretary;
F. To oversee the preparation and conduct of the worship service of the Church, along with the Board of Deacons;
G. To visit the sick in area hospitals, nursing homes, and in their homes providing comfort and spiritual help to them;
H. To contact the members and friends of the congregation periodically in order to ascertain and help the Church meet their various needs;
I. To attend, as needed, the various board and committee meetings of the Church so as to keep abreast of developments and decisions, and give spiritual direction to them;
J. To be available to provide spiritual direction and help to those individuals who request it;
K. To conduct: membership classes, installation services, baptisms, wedding ceremonies, and funerals for members of the Church;
L. To conduct at his/her discretion, weddings and funerals for others who request them;
M. To be faithful in prayer, study, and his/her own spiritual growth and development so as to be an effective spiritual leader for the congregation;
N. To endeavor in all areas of life to conduct him/herself in a Christ-like manner so as to be a good example of Christian living to the Church and the community.
