Job Description:

The pastor duties include the following:

1. Preparing and preaching Biblical sermons on a weekly basis.

2. Oversee special ceremonies and services, such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc.

3. Oversee the various ministries with the support of church leadership.

4. Develop outreach programs to help serve the_noemailmunity. This may include working with other like-minded_noemailanizations.

5. Plan and lead services collaborating with the worship team.

6. Provide pastoral care for the congregation which would include visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis.

7. Facilitate and develop small groups and educational programs to grow the congregation spiritually.

8. Work and develop with church staff to establish and execute a strategic plan for both the church and leadership growth.

 

About Fairview Free Will Baptist :

Fairview FWB is located in the upstate of South Carolina. The church has been serving the Spartanburg community for over 65 years. Our services are a blend of both contemporary and traditional worship. Many of our ministries have seen growth over the past year. The leadership is very open and receptive to new ideas for ministering to the community. Our region has experienced rapid growth over the past three to five years. Multiple surveys have put our region as one of the top 10 fasting growing areas in the nation. On average 18 people a day are moving into Spartanburg County. The potential for growth is exponential. 

Qualifications:

Deep commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Must be an ordained minister.
A minimal of 3 years of pastoral experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of effective leadership, ministry development, and community outreach.
Exceptional communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Able to multitask and lead during stressful situations.
Prefer an applicable ministry degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
