Job Description:
The Youth Pastor is_noemailmitted to furthering the mission of the Bible Fellowship Church of Newark (BFCN) in helping to develop devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. He is a strong, energetic leader with a vision for reaching and discipling students. A supportive team player, and encouraging team builder, he is an enthusiastic cheerleader for students to follow Jesus. The Youth Pastor seeks God, serves people, solves problems and shares the Gospel in truth and love.
The Youth Pastor is responsible for biblical teaching, pastoral care, discipleship, evangelism and programming for BFCN's ministry to all school age students, with a special emphasis on junior high and high school teens, as well as their parents and guardians. He will oversee the Children's Ministry Director, who is responsible for children from infancy up to Junior High. The Youth Pastor also works with the Lead Pastor and other pastors to transition teens into the larger adult Christian_noemailmunity.
To be successful in this position, the Youth Pastor, with_noemailpassion and an understanding of the challenges today's young people face, strives to provide students with a place where they feel wanted, accepted and loved, while equipping them to faithfully follow Christ in their daily life and helping them navigate the challenges they face.

Qualifications:
1. Is a godly, growing, mature Christian who loves God, loves His Word and loves people.
2. An enthusiastic cheerleader for students to follow Jesus Christ.
3. Teachable spirit with an openness to receive instruction.
4. Servant heart demonstrated in willingness to put other's interests ahead of his own; humble and secure.
5. Solid foundation of Biblical knowledge and understanding – preference for at least a bachelor's degree with some formal Bible training from a Bible college or seminary (ample experience in ministry will also be taken into consideration)
6. Qualifications of an elder in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
7. Ability to disciple teens and adults
8. Doctrinal agreement with the denominational BFC Articles of Faith, Biblical Principles for Living, and Principles of Order (see www.BFC.org)
