Description:
Manette Community Church of Bremerton WA is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Pastor. We are a small church (avg attendance 55) that has had a long history of service to the community. The Senior Pastor leads the congregation to accomplish its mission by teaching Biblical truth, casting vision and advancing the mission. The Pastor works collaboratively with the board to lead the mission and vision of the church. The Pastor leads the staff by directing them in their management of all church operations. The Senior Pastor is responsible for overseeing of staff.
The role of the Senior Pastor is to lead and equip the Church to accomplish its mission. The qualities we
desire of the Senior Pastor at Manette Community Church are:
• Meets biblical standards for faith-based leadership (Titus 2:1-10, 1 Peter 5:1-4 and 2 - Timothy
2:24-26)
• A strong gift for teaching with a passion for communicating biblical truths in a way that is
scripturally based and relevant to today’s world (2 Timothy 4:2)
• A desire to further the kingdom of Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel and making
disciples
• Able to effectively lead, coordinate and evaluate ministry leaders in the church
• Able to motivate and inspire the congregation into action within the church and in the
community Ephesians 4:11-12 "Equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the
body of Christ"
• A passion to reach the next generations for Christ through effective ministries, such as family and
children’s ministries
Primary Duties
• Preaches at Sunday worship services
• Provides leadership for the church and is accountable to the church through the board
• Works collaboratively with the Board and staff to articulate the vision and carry out the mission
of the church
• Directs the staff in their management of all Church operations, including hiring, directing, and
removing from service, any and all church staff, paid or unpaid Determines compensation of
Church staff in consultation with the board
Secondary Duties
• Officiates memorial services and weddings
• Oversees counseling as needed or refers to community resources
• Oversees pastoral care of the congregation
Compensation includes a parsonage (utilities included), cash salary, health insurance, retirement, and expense reimbursement.

A Look to the Future
Beyond these basic responsibilities and qualifications, we are seeking someone to lead us into our next chapter of ministry. We are located in the Manette Community of Bremerton WA, home of a Naval Shipyard with many young families in the community. Our church sits across the street from a Charter School with whom we have established a good working relationship that provides great opportunities for reaching young families. Our congregation is prepared and ready to reach our community with the gospel. Our next pastor needs to be able to connect with these people while leading us to do the same and needs to empower us to translate our personal experiences with Christ into relevant encounters for our community.
This church has a long history of a community presence and loving one another. We desire to build on our community presence to make disciples. We are located in Bremerton WA. across the street is a Charter School with grades K-8 with whom we have had a good partnership which we want to build on.
Our buildings consist of a worship center with seating for over 200, a separate office building, a parsonage, and an emergency housing shelter.
