St. James Lutheran is in Holland IN, a small town with a big heart located conveniently between Louisville, KY, and Evansville, IN in beautiful Southern IN. We are part of a great community with four fellow churches that all work together.
We offer Sunday School for all ages and Worship Service at 10:00 a.m.along with an 8:00 a.m. service during the summer months. We are greatly blessed with Senior and Youth Choirs, Women of The Word and Circle Group gatherings, WKFC (Wednesday Kids for Christ), Vacation Bible School, and Softball Leagues,
We believe:
1) The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, and true Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
God's Word is the final authority in our lives. Isaiah 55:11
2) Our faith is in Jesus Christ and the Bible provides guidance for our daily practices. Romans 10:9 & Isaiah 30:21
3) The Apostles', Nicene' and Athanasian Creeds, as well as the Book of Concord, are our true declarations of faith.
4) God is Triune: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14
5) Through Holy Baptism we are made children of God and receive the promises and gifts of His Grace. Galatians 3:26-29
6) Holy Communion is the real presence of Jesus in, with, and under the bread and wine. John 6:53-54
7) Jesus died a physical death, was buried and was resurrected three days later. He lives.
8) We are saved through faith by God's gift of Grace and not by works or deeds.Ephesians 2:8-9 & 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
