Job Description:
A dynamic, radically inclusive, progressive, and welcoming spiritual haven in the vibrant city of Houston, Texas, Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church (RMCC) seeks a new Senior Pastor.
This person holding this crucial position is a futurist charged with leading the advancement of Resurrection’s vision, mission, and values; they will be elected by the Congregation as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Church. The Senior Pastor must be duly ordained and licensed as a clergyperson.
Specifically, RMCC’s new Senior Pastor:
•has primary preaching responsibility and is expected to uphold RMCC’s hallmark excellence in messaging from the pulpit;
•conscientiously engages in the oversight of teaching, evangelism, and prayer ministry in the Church;
•provides pastoral leadership to the congregation alongside clergy and lay ministers and ensures that the Church's systems, practices, and policies support its ministry activities effectively and responsibly;
•attends to the spiritual direction of the Church;
•models the highest level of moral integrity and faithfully attends church services and activities;
•assists the Board of Directors in ensuring the financial stability of the Church;
•has primary management and oversight duties over the Executive Team, and collaborates with them in formulating strategy based on God's leading of RMCC;
•manages the life and direction of the Church on behalf of the Board of Directors;
•aligns ordained and lay staff and key leaders with their strategic plan for RMCC; and
•serves as the ambassador to the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (the denomination) on behalf of the Church.
