Job Description:
The Harbor Church, located in Lomita, CA is seeking to fill the Senior Pastor position, no later than January 2022. We are associated with the Assemblies of God and are open to those of similar faith. The Harbor Church embraces a clear commitment to traditional Christian orthodoxy, in adherence to the infallible Word of God. The congregation has been established over several generations and includes individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience. We remain committed to mission work both locally and internationally. Church attendance is around 100 to 120 on a regular Sunday service.
This is a Full-time position. Applicants must have ordination, and either have a BA or MDiv in biblical studies, or have a minimum five years of prior experience serving in the role of Senior Pastor. In addition to salary, our compensation package includes housing, as well as medical insurance.
The primary role of the Senior Pastor is to oversee the spiritual health and well-being of the congregation. The Senior Pastor is also responsible for the preaching/pulpit ministry for Sunday services.
Additional important duties inherent to this position include; continual awareness of the congregation, maintaining essential pastoral care for, and visitation of members in need, and the development and oversight of appropriate staff to accommodate the various age groups represented in the church. A qualified applicant must be capable of maintaining the day-to-day operation of the church, including its financial oversight.
A candidate must be able to articulate a clear vision for the direction of the church for present and future generations. Candidates should exhibit a confident, pioneering spirit, with an earnest desire to reach out to the surrounding community. Strong leadership is also required for the establishment and/or improvement of ministries, to aid members in achieving their full Christian potential.
