Job Description:

First Methodist Church in Pleasanton, TX has been proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ since 1857 and is currently seeking a full-time Senior Pastor called by God to stand in agreement with His sacred word. Our church is a financially stable independent Methodist congregation with a Book of Discipline and Bylaws.

The Senior Pastor will:
Preach the Word of God and lead Sunday worship service
Guide this congregation by the power of the Holy Spirit
Serve as the senior administrator of the church and staff
Preside as the primary officiant for church functions;_noemailmunion, baptism, weddings, confirmations, and funerals
Provide pastoral care for the congregation.
 

About First Methodist Church:

Our ministry staff includes a church secretary and a Wesley Nurse. We also have several volunteers dedicated to leading children and youth ministries, the choir, and various Bible study classes. We hold one traditional Sunday service but are open to adding a contemporary service.

Pleasanton is a growing rural community conveniently located 40 miles south of San Antonio. The town offers good schools, low crime, and many amenities of a larger city. Pleasanton is known as the Birthplace of the Cowboy filled with live oaks and friendly folks!
 

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants will hold a degree from a theological seminary or be educated in an appropriate discipline and must be in line with our Doctrinal beliefs. Prior experience in church leadership as Pastor is preferred. We are seeking candidates who will be personable and engaging with all ages and backgrounds, be an effective communicator and administrator, and be computer literate. Parsonage is available and salary will be commensurate with experience.
