General Job Description
1. Description: The Senior Pastor will participate in the pastoral ministry to advance the Kingdom of God at FBC according to this job description. This pastor will expand and deepen the FBCT Mission of "Help any willing person reach his/her fullest potential to become radically Christ-like by accepting, loving, and training him/her with the Word of God," and the FBCT Purpose of "Do all to the glory of God" (I Corinthians 10:31) by following Matthew 22:37-39 "to Love God with all you heart and to love your neighbor as yourself."
2. End Result: Display the character of Christ, the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, and give glory to God the Father in all that is done (I Corinthians 10:31).
Education and Experience
1. Master's Degree of Divinity or Theology required
2. 7+ years of pastoral experience required
3. Experience as a Ministry Director/Leader that oversaw staff and budget, giving preference to experience as a Senior Pastor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Excellence in sermon preparation and preaching
2. Dedication to accurately interpreting and teaching the Word of God
3. Knowledge, experience, and skill at fiscal and budgetary management
4. Strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills
5. Able to manage and mentor staff and other pastors/preaching team
6. Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures established by FBCT
7. A lifestyle congruent with the Biblical qualification for leaders (I Timothy 3:1-13; II Timothy 2; Titus 1:5-9)
8. A strong servant leader while remaining adaptable
9. Missions minded – always desiring to see the Gospel advanced both at home and abroad
Duties
1. Working with staff and volunteers in planning and running all services
2. Maintaining oversight of all ministries
3. Serve as ex-officio member of all committees
4. Oversee the Pastor in Training program
5. Oversee the budget and all expenditures
6. Facilities administration
7. Attract, develop, and retain membership
8. Support established ministries and provide new directives that unite the staff and Church body in common goals
