The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church and is responsible for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching the biblical revelation, engaging in pastoral care, and providing administrative leadership in all areas of church life and function.
>> Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Worship: Conduct worship that enables people to hear the word of God and participate in personal and corporate devotion and relationship with God.
Preaching and Teaching: Prepare and deliver sermons and lessons that are biblically sound and relevant to the lives of the congregation.
Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral care to the congregation through counseling, visitation, and other means.
Leadership: Provide spiritual and organizational guidance to the church, working with the staff and deacons to oversee the visions and goals of the church's ministries.
Community Outreach: Represent the church in the community and build relationships with other churches and organizations.
>> Other Duties and Responsibilities
Discipleship: Disciple the congregation through Bible study, mentoring, and other means.
Evangelism: Lead the church in evangelism and outreach to the community.
Administration: Oversee the church's administrative functions, including office personnel.
>> Qualifications
Education: Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school is preferred.
Experience: Five years of pastoral experience is preferred.
Skills: Excellent preaching and teaching skills, pastoral care skills, leadership skills, and administrative skills are required.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the Bible and American Baptist theology is required.

Experience in teaching, utilizing contemporary instructional methods.
Experience in community outreach and evangelism is desired.
