KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Be fully engaged and committed to the mission and vision of Central
Contribute ideas & planning to the Next Generation Team
Participate in all meetings and church services as directed
Be actively involved in discipleship with a new or growing believer and/or developing leaders
Be available in the foyer and at the altar to connect and minister to people at church services
Provide all pastoral functions within credentials, including visitation, weddings & funerals
Perform other pastoral duties as determined essential by the Lead Pastor
Student Ministries
1. Cultivate a supernatural lifestyle of worship, evangelism and discipleship in students
2. Primary leader and communicator for entire student ministry (grades 6-12)
3. Align student ministry approach with CENTRALIFE (Central's discipleship pathway) and our 2027 Vision
4. Recruit, equip and assist leaders in planning and conducting a comprehensive student ministry
5. Connect relationally with students, demonstrating Biblical love, compassion and concern
6. Be aggressive at addressing the real issues that today's youth face including current cultural topics
7. Be actively engaged within local public schools, helping to develop and foster relationships with
unchurched students, faculty, and coaches
8. Oversee an initiative to develop and empower students to be campus missionaries in their schools
9. Encourage and engage students in Fine Arts opportunities
10. Integrate youth into the church-at-large; serving roles, outreaches, missions and special events
11. Provide a variety of ongoing after-school, evening, weekend and summer activities to further disciple and connect with current and unchurched students
12. Develop a strong presence on social media and other relevant digital platforms
13. Assume the role of a spiritual shepherd for the middle school students of Central Christian Academy, including leading chapel on a rotation
14. Create and enforce policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment
15. Create healthy partnerships with parents to equip them to set a Godly example for their child
16. Promote and oversee parenting classes/seminars for raising Christian teenagers
(Additional areas of oversight and responsibility may be included based on experience and skillset)
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred
3+ years experience in youth ministry preferred
Active Credentials with the Assemblies of God preferred, or currently pursuing them
Agree to the Constitution and By-Laws of Central Assembly of God
Ability to cast vision, develop leadership and motivate youth to lead among peers
Must evidence the biblical pastoral qualifications (Titus 1:6-9; 1 Timothy3: 1-7) to care for teens
Evangelistic heart and burden for the lost, including passion, compassion and unconditional love
DESIRED SKILLS
Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of commonly used technologies
Excellent listening skills with the ability to recall important information
Able to multi-task and maintain composure under pressure
Begin and end projects within reasonable timeframe
Evidence of ability to recruit, equip and deploy volunteer teams
Works well with others and within a team
Energized by non-routine assignments
Creative and innovative
Work within budget parameters
Knowledgeable concerning relevant legal and ethical issues
SALARY & SCHEDULE
Full time, salary plus benefits, exempt
40-50 hours/week
One weekday off per week, excluding special events and services
Multiple evenings a week will be necessary on a seasonal basis
Weekend Schedule: Attend and serve at all worship and special services, including whole-church
events, outreach events, etc.
On call as part of a rotation in evenings and weekends
