The Worship Pastor at CROSSWAY CHURCH is responsible for leading the church family to worship God in spirit and in truth, and in a way that fulfills our mission to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make disciples.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of creativity, passion, and desire to make disciples who worship God in Spirit and in truth. Within a collaborative environment, the candidate will possess strong music, presentation, and production talents. Also, the candidate will possess strong inter-personal skills in order to recruit and shepherd volunteers, build teams, and gather people to serve in the worship ministry of the church.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build upon the tradition of excellence in music and worship at CROSSWAY CHURCH while leading the ministry into the future.
- Plan worship services as a coordinated effort with the Lead Pastor and his sermon series.
- Will collaborate with Executive Pastor/Producer and other outside worship leaders when planning weekly worship gatherings and special events.
- Meet weekly with your worship planning team to plan services with prayer, creativity, vision, attention to detail, and excellence. The worship planning team includes the Lead Pastor/Producer and Executive Pastor/Producer.
- Lead worship that engages an intergenerational church family and community, drawing from a variety of musical tools including band and vocals, plus seasonal praise choir and orchestra elements.
- Engage the unreached community evangelistically through excellent music.
- Create an environment where gifted and talented musicians and vocalists desire to be part of the worship ministry at CROSSWAY CHURCH. Draw them to your leadership and shepherd them to lead the church family in worship with you.
- Recruit, audition, and rehearse musicians and vocalists, and build teams to involve many people in the worship ministry of the church.
- Oversee and develop age-appropriate music and worship opportunities for children and students.
- Oversee, develop, and provide leadership to the media and production staff. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.

- Pray for the people and families in your ministry and community. Attend weekly staff chapel.
- Develop spiritually through personal Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community. Participate in the overall life of the church and in a life group.
- Participate in the life of the church financially by tithing. Be a team player and maintain the unity of the body.
- Enthusiastically support and live out the mission, vision, and strategy of the church. Wholeheartedly embrace the Statement of Faith.
- Abide by the Ministry Team Covenant.
Experience and Knowledge Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with an advanced degree from a theological seminary preferred.
