MINISTRY AREA: General staff/ administrative leadership
POSITION: Full time - forty(40) hour workweek
Purpose of this Position: The principle function of the Youth and Young Adult Pastir is to bring young people to Christ and facilitate their emotional, social, and spiritual development in becoming committed disciples of Jesus Christ. The Youth and Young Adult Pastor will accomplish this goal by assisting the church in planning, directing, and evaluating a comprehensive youth program for Colonial middle school and high school youth.
MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit leaders and members for various young ministry needs
Be responsible for creating the work plans to accomplish the strategies of the Senior pastor for the Youth Ministry
Provide spiritual mentoring for all Youth and Young Adults in the church
TRAIN the Youth in evangelism and plan special evangelistic outreach opportunitie
RECRUIT and train teachers to be available to teach Sunday School miorning classes and week day Bible studies
PREPARE and give sermons that are relevant and challenge youth and unchurched youth to become fully devoted followers of Christ
PROVIDE 75% of the sermons for Youth Sunday(s)
FORMULATE and MANAGE the Youth and Youth Adult budget

Job Qualifications:
MUST have 2 -3 years experience in church business, which includes youth leadership, youth program management and development, youth career planning and development
EDUCATION: Possess a Bachelors of Divinity or Theology from a seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools of the United States of America. A MASTERS in Youth Ministry will, be an added advantage.
