Position Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Oversee and lead programming for students in 6th grade through high school.
-Facilitate all youth programs and events to include Sunday school, Sunday evening and/or mid-week program activities. In addition, collaborating with our Senior Pastor, and NextGen Pastor in the Confirmation process. All programs are to be biblically based and will utilize our current curriculum.
-Develop and implement special programs such as youth events, retreats, mission projects and other seasonal youth activities.
-Establish annual goals, objectives, and plans that fulfill the mission of our Youth Ministry program as it grows.
-Create and communicate details with the NextGen Pastor related to an annual budget for Youth Ministry.
-Recruit volunteer leaders to support the ministry. Maintain current volunteer/staff base but continue to actively seek to grow the team.
-Help manage, schedule, mentor, and train our volunteers within our NextGen team. Celebrate wins and correct undesired behavior in a quick but appropriate manner. Connect with the volunteer team regularly.
-Work with Next Generation team to plan joint events such as VBS, summer camps, Easter egg hunts, fall and spring festivals, etc.
-Effectively communicate with and encourage parents. You will work together towards the common goal of discipling children and students as they grow in their relationship with Christ.
-Cross train with other NextGen ministry leaders to lead planned instruction and activities for all age groups.
-Accurate recordkeeping for attendance, new and existing families, and ministry expenditures.
-Occasional presence within our preschool program during scheduled office hours. This could include (but is not limited to) assisting with chapel, reading in classrooms, and being present at special events.
-Collaborate and work with Senior Pastor and fellow staff members to include communicating and planning in regular weekly meetings.
-Attend and participate in weekly and monthly meetings with other ministry staff, volunteers, and church leadership.
-Be familiar and in compliance with policies, guideline and procedure as outlined in the Navarre United Methodist Church Handbook.
-Any other duties that come up during ministry as needed from the NextGen Pastor, or the Lead Pastor.
