Job Overview:
Working with the elders and pastors, The Youth Pastor will be responsible for implementing CBC's mission and vision by coordinating and overseeing a_noemailprehensive youth ministry program focused on building young disciples for Christ. Areas of focus include group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. The Youth Pastor will serve as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with a strong biblical background.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of The Youth Pastor is to, along with the elders, pastors, deacons, and staff of CBC, carry out the church's purpose and vision. This Pastor's particular area of influence will be to plan, coordinate, and implement an integrated plan of ministry for Elementary through High School students. Specific attention will be given to students who are in Jr. High and High School, as this position will both coordinate and participate in Youth Group ministry.
The following are some of the means to a_noemailplish these responsibilities:
- Teaching the Word of God with excellent_noemailmunication skills so as to motivate students to live out a Christ centered life.
- Actively engaging young people both in our church and in our_noemailmunity.
- Oversee and guide ministries related to the faithful stewardship of young people, working closely with volunteers who administer children's ministry, nursery activities, and JH and HS youth ministry.
- Devoted to CBC – the local body of Christ, willing to learn while administering a gift of leadership, a humble servant leader.
- Works closely with the elder/pastor team, pursuing an atmosphere of oneness.
- Worship Arts Responsibilities (Desired)
+ Will have the opportunity to assist in the leading of worship.
+ Organize and schedule teams of lay-people who will lead worship on a rotation.
+ Work closely with elder and deacon assigned to worship in order to increase church wide engagement in worship, promote unity among those serving in worship ministry, and preserve biblical integrity and relevance of music.
Financial Package:
The salary and benefits for this position will be dependent on the experience and qualifications of the person to be hired. A general financial package will be made available prior to an interview. A specific financial package will be made available prior to an invitation to candidate.
The financial package will consist of the following:

Community Bible Church (CBC) was founded in 1987 and is located near Mount Vernon, IA, approximately ten miles outside Cedar Rapids. CBC is an elder-led, non-denominational, evangelical church of approximately 250 people. - One who is in complete agreement with the CBC constitution and doctrinal statements
- We prefer a bible college graduate, seminary graduate, or a candidate with significant relevant ministry experience
- Models the humility and servant attitude of Christ with a teachable spirit
