Director of Career Development
Job Description:
Position Objectives
Coach students through their career development
Provide career planning skills and job search strategies
Coordinate with other King's departments and constituents interested in developing internship, employment, and graduate school opportunities
Develop appropriate relationships among potential employers, students, and alumni
Develop appropriate material to support all objectives
Duties and Responsibilities
Market The King's College to potential employers, graduate schools
Manage appropriate media, primarily electronic
Join and participate in appropriate forums, groups, and_noemailanizations
Support other departments as needed in their career related development activities
Develop and maintain relationships with employers and graduate schools
Facilitate career development opportunities
Actively solicit employment opportunities
Professionally receive employer calls to King's
Maintain databases and tools to connect employer, opportunities, and candidates
Create on-campus interview events
Review student resumes and counsel students regarding corrections, if necessary
Interview students and r_noemailmend appropriate positions/opportunities
Prepare students for employment search
Education
Coach students in resume, interview, and job search skill and practice
Career development self-assessment services
Personal brand management
Internships
Develop curriculum for students seeking internship academic credit
Act as liaison for scholarship and fellowship opportunities
Be an authority on employment and career development trends
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, administrative and supervisory skills
Strong skills in written and oral expression in person and via telephone
An understanding of career development issues affecting students and be able to identify and analyze trends within career development.
Literacy and_noemailfort in an electronic dominated_noemailmunication environment
A strong_noemailbination of the following: masters degree, corporate experience, career counseling experience, marketing experience, workshop planning, and/or administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Ability to make presentations, to engage new relationships, and to enthusiastically_noemailmunicate the King's message to a broad variety of constituents
Ability to be a coach to students through the entire job/graduate school search process
Ability to help develop effective marketing collateral
Ability to work and advance independently
Excellent_noemailanizational skills
