Director of Christian Education - Focus on Children/Youth
Job Description:
Background: Peace Presbyterian Church is a warm, fun place to work! It's located in Goose Creek, SC just outside Charleston, SC rated as one of the top destination cities in America! The position of Director of Christian Education [DCE] is to develop, implement and direct a well-rounded, biblically oriented, Christ-centered program of meaningful and spiritually challenging activities and opportunities for children, youth and adults. This staff person will develop these opportunities through interactive Bible studies, service/mission projects, worship and fun activities.
Personal Qualifications:
We are looking for a high energy, creative,_noemailmitted Christian who knows Jesus as Lord of his/her life and is living in accordance with God's Word; someone who has a passion for, and a demonstrated ability to relate to, children and youth. One who can enthusiastically subscribe to Peace Church's evangelical doctrine and statement of faith. A person who is well grounded in God's Word, able to relate to and_noemailmunicate with a wide range of individuals on a personal level, has strong_noemailanizational and relational skills and a life which demonstrates emotional maturity.
Educational/Ministry Background:
This candidate should have an undergraduate/graduate college degree, preferably in the social sciences, education, bible or music, possess experience and expertise in developing a children and youth ministry, be knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate material for children, and proven abilities in team building.
Responsibilities
This individual's primary focus will be designing, implementing and leading a children and youth ministry (middle/high school). Secondary responsibility will be to provide leadership for the adult CE program.
Compensation
We offer a_noemailpetitive salary as well as pension and medical benefits, four weeks of vacation and two weeks of continuing education a year.
