Overview
The Children's Director (CD) oversees the ministries and strategies that shepherd and disciple children from birth to 5th grade, particularly helping them meet God, know Jesus, and grow in relationships. The CD leads all children workers, both paid and volunteer, in bringing high-quality and impactful Sunday and Midweek programming to the families of Branch Church.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to ensure alignment and cohesion in the vision and impact of BranchKids programs with Branch Church's vision and ministries
- Identify the needs of all children birth to 5th grade within the church family and larger_noemailmunity to which the church ministers
- Plan specific ministry activities and programs designed to a_noemailplish the goals of helping kids meet God, know Jesus, and grow in relationships
- Assess the effectiveness of ministry activities and programs and make revisions as needed
- Ensure that all children's educational ministries are giving biblical instruction in agreement with the vision, mission, and philosophy of Branch Church
- Oversee all weekend, midweek, and special services for the children's ministry, providing high-energy worship services and weekly high-energy illustrated messages, either directly or empowering teaching volunteers
- Meet weekly with BranchKids team to plan out the weeks and months ahead
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Director to develop, implement, and evaluate biblically based curriculum for use in Children's Ministry
- Provide leadership, training and vision to all children's workers to increase effectiveness and impact of all BranchKids programming
- Provide regular_noemailmunication and mentoring to volunteers and families to keep them updated on BranchKids programming and informed on their engagement and support of the ministry.
- Serve as the primary staff lead on our children's ministry events, ensuring all events have effective and clear planning,_noemailmunication, and implementation strategies
Qualifications:
- Committed follower of Jesus living a bold and growing faith that points others to Christ
- Passion and love for the local church with a desire to see the body of Christ grow, mature, and fulfill the Great Commission
- Deep and growing knowledge of God's Word and its application to everyday life
- Background in Education, Social work or relevant education and work experience
- Demonstrated ability to connect with and lead kids of all ages and abilities
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and mobilize high-capacity leaders
- Effective systems development and management
- Excellent work ethic and_noemailanization and execution of priorities and responsibilities
- Discernment of people's gifts and abilities
- Demonstrated ability to inspire_noemailmitment, engagement, and follow-through
- Creative, clear, and effective_noemailmunication abilities, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively engage and teach large groups in a variety of public speaking formats such as preaching, teaching, presentation, and training
