Job Description : Children's Minister
Position Classification: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Executive Minister and Lead Minister
Direct Reports: Ministry Assistant/Childcare Coordinator
Position Description: The Children's Minister works closely with BridgeWay members and staff to support the vision of the church. They are responsible for helping kids engage in our mission. Our mission is to Connect to God, to connect to others, and to connect others to God.
Children's Minister Primary Job Responsibility:
*To create life-changing, biblical, and gospel-centric environments for all children from 1 Year Olds through 5th grade.
*To recruit and develop leaders:
-The Children's Minister must be a strong developer and leader
-Cast a clear and compelling vision for leaders, parents, and kids
-Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteer teams to impact the lives of children
-Oversee Childcare Coordinator (a part time position that reports to the Children's Minister) to
ensure that childcare needs are met for selected ministry events and small groups
*To develop a culture of discipleship:
-Ensure that the ministry is biblically oriented, gospel-centric, and fun!
-Oversee and prepare an exciting and engaging environment for kids including Sunday mornings,
special events, and other programming
-To support other adult ministries with kids programming, as appropriate
-Create and maintain a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for kids and a
prepared, organized environment for team members.
*To develop a culture of evangelism:
-To make all environments welcoming and relevant to lost kids and their families
-To use strategic events to encourage lost/unchurched kids to engage with the gospel
*To support and nurture the spiritual development process of kids and their parents:
-Provide training and resources to parents in assisting them with their kid's spiritual growth
-Seek out opportunities to have spiritual conversations with both children and parents on
salvation, baptism, evangelism, and discipleship
*Other duties as assigned

*The successful candidate must be able to show a strong track record of:
-Recruiting and leadership development
-Demonstrating a strong biblical emphasis in teaching and raising up other teachers
-Selecting curriculum and programming that is gospel-centric and biblically oriented

-Experience in ministry leadership

-Strong work ethic
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in ministry leadership. They will have demonstrated success on a team with multiple staff. They will be coachable and must have a strong drive to grow as a leader.
Candidates must show a history of effective development skills including but not limited to: setting expectations, holding team members accountable and having crucial conversations. They must be comfortable in a staff environment of autonomy and accountability. They must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
An undergraduate or advanced theological degree is desired but is not necessary. More importantly, there must be good theological and ministry alignment with the church.
