Title: Children's Director
Hours : Full-Time (40-hour+ a week.)
Pay: 65,000-75,000 Salary/Housing Allowance, Commissioning + Other Benefits
This ministry position will oversee leadership within the Children's Ministries and specifically the ages of Infants to 5th grade. Responsibilities will include vision casting and leading of volunteers, recruiting and training of volunteers, communicating with parents and children via email, social media, website, training, and teaching. The Children's Director will report to and work closely with the Executive Pastor to implement the vision and direction of Children's Ministry
SPECIFIC MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Recruit, onboard, train and support volunteer teams and "coaches" who will engage children through music, teaching and activities each weekend and through scheduled special events. This includes encouraging and supporting Youth and Kid volunteers to serve and do what you do.
§ Oversee the Northgate Children's Ministry Check-in to ensure the experience is welcoming, simple and quick from the moment parents arrive to the time they pick up their children.
§ Help train and challenge volunteers with our Mission, Vision, and Values.
§ Staff: You are responsible for working alongside a Family Ministry team to support and encourage them when needed. To make sure that you are working in conjunction with each other to accomplish a unified mission and vision for our families at Northgate.
§ Volunteers: Aside from Jesus being at the center of our ministry, volunteers are the backbone. When they're healthy in their walk with the Lord, they're able to shepherd well. It's your role to love, care, nurture, pray for, and encourage these volunteers. You will oversee the value and function of volunteers in Children's Ministry. This will require vision casting at Leadership Gatherings, individual encouragement of leaders, and empowerment of leaders to affirm and utilize leaders in all areas of ministry. Coach volunteers in every event, weekend service, and trips to understand the vision and value of the ministry. Shepard care of volunteers with ongoing check-in conversations with each leader, utilizing your lead team of coaches. You will develop leaders to understand their next steps in ministry or church.
§ Student Leaders: You'll have a supporting role in helping the MS and HS director in developing students for the purpose of serving in Children's Ministry.
§ Parents: Parents continue to be the primary means in which faith is passed down in the family structure. Part of your role is to develop and invest in parents & families.
§ Coordinate with volunteers and programming teams on overall curriculum planning and development.
§ Able to be agile, creative and intuitive in your programming in order to customize the weekend experience for your specific kids, leaders and families.
§ Overseeing the Kids Worship Team
§ Be able to help set the atmosphere for fun and help our adults be fun too.
§ Can organize, train and cast vision for a dynamic service in all our kids' spaces.
ADMINISTRATION: It's important for us to be organized internally to be effective in reaching out to children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your role will span a variety of administrative tasks. This could look like:
Updating/Creating Data Bases
OTHER MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve the leader of the Children's Ministry Team and specifically your core team of coaches. You will work closely with other staff members to create a deep and meaningful ministry centered on discipleship and helping students develop a relationship with Jesus.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Parents or volunteers who have concerns with Children's Ministry and Family Ministry.
Evaluating situations and meeting the needs appropriate to the beliefs of Northgate Christian Fellowship.
Trusting the leadership of the church and aligning to the core values, assimilation, and next steps.
Annual Ministry Planning
Facilities set up of classrooms (setting up chairs, tables, etc).// classroom preparedness for Sundays.
The Children's Ministry Director will be asked to participate in various activities which have all-church implications.
Attend Weekly Staff Meetings
Attend Family Ministry Meetings
Attend One on One meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain a consistent devotional time with God.
Work a 40+hour week.
Complete N.E.X.T. within the first 90 days on staff.
