We desire to hire a Children's Director that will lead a team of people in pointing families to Jesus, nurturing the faith of children and championing parents as the primary shepherds of their children.

Core Responsibilities:
Work with the Ministry Pastor to provide vision and direction for children's ministry
Develop and implement a plan for championing parents as the primary shepherd in a child's life
Develop and implement a plan for engaging our community (i.e. Zip Camp, Family fun days)
Collaborate with other ministries on ways to lead children toward maturity in Christ.
Recruit and develop a volunteer staff to assist in ministry, delegating responsibility as needed
Schedule and coordinate ministry meetings, events, and volunteers
Provide safe, adequate, appropriate programming on Sunday morning and Wednesday night
Provide child-care and family friendly suggestions for special events (Easter, Christmas Eve, etc.)
Oversee curriculum and teaching for Children's Ministry while sharing in teaching duties
Communicate with parents and volunteers regularly
Take responsibility for areas of usage in the Children's Ministry
Submit an annual budget for the children's ministry and oversee its finances

Core Attributes, Competencies and Skills:
Required: Understanding of childhood development; ability to develop relationships with children, volunteers, and parents; ability to communicate the Gospel to children; ability to effectively manage ministry; demonstrable ability/passion to develop and lead others; ability to teach; commitment to a team approach in leadership; a teachable spirit; ability to have honest conversations with others for their benefit and ministry effectiveness; a Bachelor's degree in Bible, Ministry, Theology or an adolescent related field; if married, have a spouse who supports his/her ministry.
Desired: Basic understanding of technology (AVL), Planning Center Online, and Shelby Next (Chms)
