General Position Description: The Children's Pastor is responsible for the pastoring of children and their families through the implementation of a ministry strategy that inspires interest in God and develops a foundation of faith that will last a lifetime.
Ministry Specific Responsibilities:
Cast vision for a vibrant Children's Ministry that allows children to learn about Jesus and experience Him personally
Recruit and develop a dynamic leadership team of volunteers through providing resources and training
Develop an active outreach ministry to elementary children and their families
Oversee and resource Wednesday evening Royal Rangers and Mpact Girl programs
Encourage children to participate in BGMC - Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge
Provide opportunities for parents to enhance their parenting skills and improve their relationship with their children
Implement policies for the safety and security of children, including but not limited to effective use of check-in and check-out procedures and technology through Planning Center
Cooperate with the sharing of space and resources with other ministries and/or departments
Work with the Academy Director in providing weekly chapel services for the students
Work with the Youth Pastor in helping transition kids from the children's ministry to youth ministry
Participate in summer children's camps provided by the Peninsular Florida Children's department
Use effective modes of communication including emails, facebook, instagram, mailings, etc. designed to keep families engaged and informed of current messages, programs, projects and opportunities,

Education and Experience:
Hold a ministerial credential with the Assemblies of God. If not credentialed, be willing to acquire
At least 3 years experience leading in a children's ministry context of 100+ in attendance
Proven experience leading and developing others
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
