Job Description:
Temple Baptist Church in Cullman, AL is looking for a Children's Pastor to join their team. This multi-site church needs someone that will focus on discipleship and evangelism of children, in partnership with their families, schools and through small groups and large group experiences. We are looking for someone to oversee and facilitate the day-to-day operations of our Kidz Quest department at our Main Campus.
Currently Kidz Quest has on average 200+ children that attend our main campus during our 2 Sunday morning services. Kidz Quest is made up of children K-5th grade. During the Sunday morning services we have three large group rooms broken down by grades, Mission Control for K-2nd, Deep Sea Adventure for 3rd-4th and Base Camp for 5th-6th graders. During our Wednesday night activities around 180 attend a small group time, based on grade and gender.
Principle Function
The Children's Pastor is responsible for the development and promotion of a comprehensive program of Christian education for children, kindergarten through the fifth grade.
Working Relations
The Children's Pastor works under the direct supervision of the Chief of Staff and Executive Pastor.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing leadership and general direction for Kidz Quest (assimilation of children, oversight of TBC environments, curriculum development, parent engagement, public school outreach, discipleship)
2. Overseeing and leading in the planning and implementation of annual calendar and action plans agreed to by the Executive Team (scheduling dates, leading classes, leading VBS, Outreach events, etc)
3. Identifying, recruiting, and equipping volunteers for ministry areas.
4. Developing, managing, and empowering a team of leaders responsible for our Sunday morning children's areas (Kidz Quest) as well as our Wednesday small groups (Exploration).
5. Plan and implement yearly a Vacation Bible School for elementary children
6. Teaching/Preaching in the local public schools before or after instructional school hours.

5. Experience in children's ministry is desired but not required.

9. Seminary/Bible School degree (Bachelor Degree or higher) desired but not required.
