Job Description:
The responsibilities of the Director of Student Ministry will oversee all aspects and
administration of ministry programs, nursery through teen. This will include providing
visionary leadership, recruitment, training, development, and management of operations necessary to ensure a vibrant and successful ministry system.
This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor
Responsibilities:
General
Prayerfully select and/or develop curriculum and age-appropriate materials for Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School ages.
Recruit, train, and manage leaders and volunteers, ensuring they effectively teach and
promote a biblical worldview and Christian values.
Promote and adhere to church policies and procedures.
Develop and/or maintain security standards that ensure children can learn in a safe and protected environment.
Develop and present an annual budget for ministries and then oversee and manage good stewardship over the approved budget.
Plan and oversee special events designed to minister to children.
Lead departmental meetings to educate, inspire and empower volunteers to succeed in their respective ministry roles.
Manage the creative use and proactive upkeep of ministries facilities to ensure they are presentable and appropriately equipped for children's programs and events.
Maintain a check-in and check-out system.
Coordinate outreach or field trip events.
Perform additional duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.

Possess a sense of calling, commitment, and passion for administering the gospel to
children.
Qualifications:
Possess Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in ministry to children, youth, or in child development, education, psychology, or a related field.
Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in ministry to children or youth.
Possess a collaborative, servant's heart, be a self-starter, a people person, relational, and creative.
Possess practical communication skills (both written and oral).
Be a collaborator and team player with a positive attitude.
Possess leadership, administrative, and management skills.
Able to pay reasonable attention to detail.
Be self-motivated with the ability to take the initiative.
Possess experience in leading staff and volunteers within a ministry setting.
Able to encourage children, students, families, and volunteers.
Experience in working with special needs children is a plus.
Experience with VBS, AWANA, FUGE Camps (e.g., Centrifuge, MFuge), or children/youth missions trips is a plus.
