General Description:
Recruits and manages the music groups on the main campus. Works with the Office of Admissions to recruit students for music groups. Organizes and oversees the practice sessions for these groups. Sets and manages the performance schedules for these groups.
Teach one or two worship arts classes a semester for the concentration in Worship Arts offered through the Chapman School of Religious Studies and Seminary. Help students to learn subject matter and skills which will lead toward fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Directs, assesses, and evaluates the learning experiences of the students along with the assessing the effectiveness of academic programs in which he/she is employed to teach.
Essential Functions:
Recruit students for music groups on the main campus. Currently that list includes: Great Command, Earthlight, Pep Band, OCU Chorus, and Campus Praise Band.
Establish and hold practice sessions for these groups on a regular basis to ensure quality performances.
Work with General Baptists and other local churches in setting performance schedules for Great Command and Earthlight.
Work with the Athletic department on setting performances for the Pep Band.
Work with the Campus Pastor on setting performances for the Worship Praise Band.
Set campus and off-campus performances for the OCU Chorus.
Teach Worship Arts classes in the Chapman School of Religious Studies and Seminary.
Maintain music technology equipment and labs.
