Job Description:
We have a call that every youth in our Coastside community has an opportunity to hear the message of Jesus Christ. Our Family Pastor will help fulfill that calling by creating opportunities, developing sustainable ministries, equipping parents and volunteers and championing the vision to bring Jesus to children, youth and parents.
Scope:
Create lead and champion all ministry areas that impact the family from cradle to college at Mariners Community Church.
Capabilities:
-Strategic follow through-the ability to anticipate and act with the understanding of the big picture, the contribution of each of its parts, how they interact and the possibilities to pursue.
-Partnership-can form, develop and maintain relationships, contribute and collaborate with leadership and teams alike.
-Learning agility-motivated to continually develop, can adapt and incorporate new knowledge with flexibility and timeliness.
-Effective communicator-can facilitate meaningful dialogue and exchanges, aligning intent with impact.
Skills:
-Can develop and implement vision and strategy for family ministries
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Experienced team leader, relationship builder and developer of people
-Can create and improve upon systems and processes and stays organized
-Demonstrates timely and effective decision making
Responsibilities:
-Develop, rollout and achieve the vision, strategy and goals for Family Ministries.
-Achieve measurable progress that moves kids from attending to fully engaged
-Leverage relationships across Mariners to recruit, empower, fundraise and supervise directors, interns and volunteers.
-Equip leaders through ongoing training and team building
-Oversee budgets
-Seek out and translate ministry trends
-Central point of contact for curriculum development

Job Qualifications:
-Built and led at least two of these areas: Kids Ministry, Student Ministry, College Ministry, Parent Ministry
-Has demonstrated skills and responsibilities as described above; especially in strategy development and implementation, trust based relationships building and communication
-Formally educated in church ministry with a Bible/Ministry/Theological degree (or is currently involved in ongoing Biblical education)
