Principle Functions
Responsible to the church for leading, developing, promoting, and implementing all music ministries of the church. Responsible to the church for directing the daily administrative responsibilities including giving leadership and direction to the music staff
Qualifications
Must be a practicing Christian who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and exemplifies a spiritual commitment in the performance of their duties.
Strong musical background, dependable, spiritually motivated, creative and one who sees the Music Ministry for the Lord.
Must have at least three years of experience directing choirs and managing the administrative aspects of Music Ministry.
Must have proven leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise the Music Ministry and Musicians.
Ability to play by ear and read vocal and instrumental music for piano and organ.
Ability to recruit and organize choir directors, instrumentalists, and vocalists.
Must work in consultation with the Production Ministry to create a spirit of excellence for worship.
Accountability
The Music Director reports to the Pastor and Executive Business Director of the Church.
Primarily the Music Director will work with the Pastor on matters of worship, thematic topics, music and praise worship, attend leadership meetings and worship planning committee meetings.
The Music Director shall work with the Executive Business Director on administrative, budgeting, program development and scheduling matters.
The Music Director will meet with the Board of Trustees on development and obtaining final approval of the budget.
