Job Overview: The Pastor of Family and Student ministries is responsible for the ministry oversight of children and youth aged 4 to 17. They are to manage and develop key lead volunteers and equip others to do the work of the ministry. They are a "player-coach"—someone willing to both do the work of the ministry and provide strategic leadership. A demonstratable passion for the power of the gospel and the authority of God's Word is essential. The person will have a personal life that is a growing and humble example of what a Christ-follower is striving to be.

Employment status: Full time

Reports to: the lead pastor and board of elders.

Salary & benefits: Will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Consummate with a per-determined salary grid.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The pastor will be responsible for the overall operation and management of Discovery Day Camp and its weekly component (DDC Weekly which runs from Oct – May). They must create a safe, fun, and gospel-focused environment for campers, staff, and volunteers. They are responsible for recruiting and managing staff and volunteers. They must also ensure that camp activities are carried out in accordance with all Centerpoint Church policies and regulations.
Assisting with the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff and volunteers
Ensuring that all fiduciary protocols are followed including background checks, first aid training, and health & safety procedures
Developing and implementing a daily camp schedule that includes Bible time, small group time, games, crafts, and other activities
Organizing a day camp schedule for all staff, volunteers, and the bus driver
Develop a Bible curriculum for the day camp, planning and teaching each lesson with the help of camp leaders.
Ensuring all staff and campers are aware of emergency procedures
Building relationships with parents, campers, staff, and volunteers
Providing and end-of-summer evaluation of the camp program

The pastor will be responsible for the overall operation and management of Centerpoint Church's Student ministries program. They are responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers.
Develop a Bible curriculum for Centerpoint Kids Sunday am ministry (CPK). They will oversee the scheduling, recruitment and development of leaders.
Organizing regular (weekly for much of the year) Centerpoint Youth (CPY) events (ages 12-17) that are both fun, engaging, and Bible centered.
Communication with parents of youth and children is essential. They are a person who can clearly express themselves while also being able to actively listen.

The children and student ministries pastor will regularly report to the lead pastor. The person will be asked to participate in elders meetings (either part or all) as needed.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

The candidate must:
be a stable, mature, and growing Christian with an exemplary personal life.
possess strong knowledge and understanding of the Bible and the ability to teach Bible lessons to children of all ages.
be in agreement with Centerpoint Church's Statement of Faith and Constitution & Bylaws. The person must be willing to become a member of Centerpoint Church.
demonstrate strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
be in agreement with the Centerpoint Church Code of Conduct.
possess a valid driver's license.
have certification in First Aid/CPR (or must be completed as soon as possible after employment begins)

The following experience and qualifications are an asset:
possess a Class 2 Bus License (the pastor would not be the primary driver, but with a class 2 license would be able to provide backup if needed).
previous experience in youth and/or childrens ministry.
a degree from a recognised bible college or seminary.
certification or training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (training will be provided if required)
