Evangelizing and Leading Outreach Opportunities
Empower and encourage the church community to actively participate in opportunities to show God's Love and Gospel Hope to the local community and their spheres of influence.
Empower and encourage the church community to support God's work being done throughout the world

Developing and Interpreting the Faith for Believers
Make the Christian faith relevant and actionable to the cultural moment
Support and participate in teaching ministries, such as Sunday School and Bible studies

Nurturing Fellowship with Other Believers
Encourage connection between fellow believers within the English congregation, as well as across other congregations within Community Baptist Church
Create new and strengthen existing relationships between other Christian church communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Seek out opportunities for believers to learn about and engage within the Christian church worldwide

Conducting Pastoral Care
Demonstrate gifts of leadership, teaching, and shepherding with strong relational and communication skills
Perform pastoral duties, such as visitations and counseling
Officiate events, such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms

Building Up Leaders Within the Church Community
Start new and support existing ministries and programs
Empower and equip the congregation to serve and initiate ministries within the community

Collaborating Across All Aspects of Church Ministry
Work collaboratively with the senior pastor, associate pastors, church staff, Board of Directors, and ministry teams
Assume administrative and other church related responsibilities (as required and mutually agreed upon)
 

A Masters of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary or its equivalent
Ordained or qualified for ordination
Agree substantively with American Baptist beliefs and traditions
Agree to be bound by the Code of Ethics of the ABC/USA
Five years of experience in ministry
Function effectively as a member of a pastoral team, supporting the Senior Pastor
Comfortable and effective in a multilingual and multicultural church setting (i.e. English, Cantonese, Mandarin)
Experience in teaching and preaching
Good organizational skills
A desire to minister to people
