Cornerstone is looking for our next Worship Leader / Pastor
We are looking for a guy to lead us in worship on Sundays and take us farther into our "Generational Church" vision (i.e. that we are actively reaching 18-35 year old, and passing on a robust, dynamic faith in Christ to the next two generations). We currently have a 9-member praise team with sound and AV techs supporting. Our worship style is blended, but mostly contemporary and celebratory. This is initially a part time position (10 hours per week at $15-20 per hour).
Requirements:
• A solid confession of Christ and Christian testimony with verifiable "fruit of the Spirit" from at least 3 personal references. (A FBI background check will be performed as well.)
• A passion for and calling to worship and ministry
• A gifting for leading the congregation while playing guitar and/or keys
• A strong singing talent (an above average singer)
• A passion for serving others
• A dedicated prayer life
• An ability to lead others humbly and boldly (particularly in a praise band)
• Must be able to submit to pastoral-elder oversight while contributing as a pastor-minister of the church.
• Must live locally or moving to the area (Western NC). Within a 30-40 minute drive of 224 Barber Hill Dr. Waynesville, NC.
• Must be male, preferably in the 20 or 30-something demographic.
• Education / a degree is beneficial, but not required.
• Experience: of course, the more the better in most cases, but if you are fresh to ministry and have a lot of energy, vision, and expectation of the Lord, we are open to that.
• Willingness to meet at least twice per month with the pastor and staff
• Willingness to use volunteer musicians/singers and seek out more talent

Our campus of 10 acres and 3 buildings (Main, Admin/parsonage, Youth Facility & large yard) is situated above an apple orchard outside the city limits; we have the best view of the pristine mountains of Western NC. The church--with it's large blue metal roof---can be seen from certain overlooks on the Blue Ridge parkway. Western Carolina's campus is just 20 min away in Sylva; we are actively pursuing ministry on our regional college campuses.

• Practice with the team once during the week and then again on Sundays at 8:30
• Lead worship services during special services (e.g. Christmas Eve, Good Friday, worship on the lawn, etc.)
• Find new music, submit to the pastor for review, and lead the team and congregation in learning it.
• Develop the praise team by instructing them and seeking new talent.
• Engage in church life (a Community Group once per month, prayer, Afterglows - an occasional Sunday evening gathering for food and fun and fellowship, etc.)
