FCC is currently seeking a qualified person to fill our Worship Leader role at our Reedsburg, WI campus. This person will be responsible to coordinate with the Campus Pastor in Reedsburg on the worship, music, and artistic activities of the church. Collaborate with Mauston Campus Worship Leader in programming for special combined church services. Primarily responsible to lead worship for Reedsburg campus church services, train and grow worship team, plan and conduct special music events.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, coordinate and lead all worship in Reedsburg campus services.
Set music list for worship services and provide the information to the technical and media team.
Research and incorporate new music to be used.
Prepare music for team: lyric sheets, chord sheets, and associated digital media (uploaded and maintained in Planning Center).
Lead regularly scheduled practices with musicians and singers.
Arrive at appropriate times before service to ensure rehearsal/sound check begins promptly and ends timely.
Plan for special events/occasions, enlisting others as needed.
Work closely with any other team leaders/members in planning and preparing for church services or other church events.
Coordinate and/or collaborate with Mauston Campus Worship Leader as needed/required.
Recruit new worship team members and train volunteers.
Management of music equipment/instruments.
Ensure there are trained people scheduled to lead for times you cannot be in a service (emergency or pre-arranged absences).
Maintain appropriate records and written materials.
Obtain approvals for purchases and budgets from Campus Pastor for events and/or worship services.
May be called upon to assist in a special church function or assigned a specific area of responsibility.
May be called upon to occasionally conduct a church service.
Other duties, as assigned.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time salary position. The working hours of the Worship Leader shall be primarily rehearsal times, church services and any preparation work during office hours. The estimated number of hours is 10-15 hours per week. All employees are to make staff meetings a priority. May be required to help with special events or conferences.
Expectations of Ministerial Ethics
Maintain a flowing relationship with God through the Word and prayer.
Live a life of holiness as directed by the New Testament for spirit, soul, body and finance.
Deal with people, as best as possible, as Jesus would, following the guidelines given in 1 & 2 Timothy. Special care should be taken in dealing with the opposite sex to be above reproach in all circumstances.
Keep the confidentiality of other's personal problems with diligence (except where physical danger or abuse is involved to themselves or someone else).
Maintain a good and open relationship with the Lead and Associate Pastors, never allowing gossip or complaints to find a home in your heart, but dealing with them in the right manner by sharing with the Pastor privately.
Keeping the unity of faith and faithful by bringing up differences of opinion with the leadership in private only.
Make a commitment to do what is right without partiality to anyone. Also, committing to do what God wants, not what is popular.
Sense a calling to serve in this kind of ministry role and ability to clearly articulate that calling to others.
At least one year of experience in the following:
o Leading a congregation in public worship, with a commitment of seeking to grow in that area.
o Leading a team of vocalists and musicians
Musical skills required:
o Ability to read music
o Strong vocal ability, in a pleasing manner
o Proficient in playing guitar and/or keyboard
o Ability to sing while playing
Well-versed in current worship and musical instrument technology.
Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work as a part of a team and handle personality issues.
Ability to work independently, as well as with others, and have good communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and expectations.
Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
Recorded video and/or audio audition required with application.
